We received a bottle of Tantric Massage Oil by California Exotic Novelties from our good friends at BetterSex.com. Talk about Friends with Benefits! This oil, aside from being a free sample, is really quite nice.

The sample we received was the Green Tea with Pheromones. It has a very clean scent with a sweet floral overtone. I am NOT into floral scents, but this is not overpowering in concentrate or in use. I cannot attest to the existence or efficacy of the pheromones. I am pretty much always up for some playtime with Mrs. Peg, be that a pegging session or a romantic massage. Most times the latter ends with us making love. Did the pheromones make it happen? As far as I am concerned, I don’t think so.

The Tantric Massage Oil comes in a 4 oz. black spray bottle. It is not really sexy looking. Personally I would rather it come in a clear bottle with a nicer picture on the front. I have mixed feeling about the spray bottle. The benefit of having a spray bottle is that it delivers a measured amount of oil in a nicely dispersed mist. A few squirts and I had applied the perfect amount to Mrs. Peg’s shoulders. The downside is covering a large area gives your spray finger a workout. Also, spritzing your lover is not nearly as sexy as pouring warm liquid onto their skin and watching it travel down their spine.

The oil itself has the right amount of slippage. It isn’t too greasy but it is slick enough to allow for a virtually friction-free rub down. Ingredients include: Soybean Oil, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Kukui Nut Seed Oil, Cannibis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Sunflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and Vitamin A, C, and E. This product has not been tested on animals.

We highly recommend warming this product in a bowl of warm water. However, another drawback of the mist is that the oil does not go on really warm. However, if it is too cold it will certainly be noticed. Be sure when giving a massage that you do not massage areas that look infected, are hot to the touch, are inflamed, or painful when touched. This is especially true of the calves as theses signs could be indicative of a clot. Untreated clots in the leg are a potential medical emergency and massaging them could cause them to break free and start moving.

Christmas Decorations and Dildos

About five years ago I started filling two stocking for Mrs. Peg on Christmas Eve. One is a classic stocking made of plaid fabric with a metallic rope hand stitched into a celtic knot on the cuff. I made this for her the first year we were married. This one hangs from the mantle next to the University of Florida Gators stocking she made for me. I made my wife’s other stocking as well. This one usually hangs from our footboard and is your standard red and white faux fur stocking with fishnet hose pulled over it.

SM101: Not Just Another Crash Course in Kink

When I was going to college my introductory courses allowed me to get explore some ideas, exposed me to others, and basically gave me a good foundation to continue my studies. They also allowed me opportunity to discover I had a knack for accounting…and NOT computer programming. None of them, however, held the promise for pleasure and pain the way that SM101: A Realistic Introduction does.

To be sure, SM101: A Realistic Introduction is NOT your garden variety crash course in kink. Jay Wiseman, the author, has compiled in this volume what can only be described as the most thorough introduction to S&M that we have ever come across. He covers every aspect of S&M from CBT, to nipple torture, to rope work. And he doesn’t just give you enough information to make you a danger to yourself and your play partner. He whets your appetite, explains what you should and should not be doing, and gives you enough of a understanding to allow for informed exploration.

Master Wiseman begins the book with just the type of introduction you can expect on the first day of any class. He tells you who he is. He tells you about his experiences. And most importantly, he tells you how those experience have led to him writing the SM101 . He then explains who the book is for and what the student can expect to discover within its pages.

The rest of the book is focused on the art of S&M. He starts you off with the basics, covers bondage, pain, implements for delivering erotic pain, and the relationship between the dom and the sub. What we really liked about this is that the book is very gender neutral. Regardless of who is dominant in your relationship, this book had meaningful and relevant information for both of you. There is a chapter titled A Novice Woman’s Guide to Erotically Dominating a Man which provides some gender-specific information that can be especially helpful, especially if this is a role-reversal for a couple.

The author also provides an extensive amount of resources on everything from finding play palaces to what to do if you’re S&M relationship becomes abusive. There is a glossary, a list of interesting S&M sayings that will introduce you to the ethos of the lifestyle, and how to set up a starter set. Personally, I can’t think of anything that might have been left out. Like I said, this is a THOROUGH introduction!



I have always wanted to go to a sex-ed class like those offered by Good Vibrations. I think it is a great way to learn. What’s more, I think Mrs. Peg and I would have a blast. Unfortunately, we live in North Florida and there simply aren’t too many of the kind of classes we’d like to attend being offered around here. Instruction-wise, I think this book is really the next best thing. It is informative, thoughtful, and well-written. Could we learn more kneeling at the feet of the master? I am sure we could. But this is truly a great, and realistic, introduction to the in and outs of real S&M play.
